About Mike Ray


Mike Ray is a proud native of the city of Youngstown. He grew up on the West Side, attending St. Brendan’s and Chaney High School. He was of the first generation in his family to attend college, graduating from Youngstown State University.

He currently works as a technical services supervisor for a company in the Pittsburgh area that provides testing services for electric utilities.

Mike has served as Fourth Ward Councilman since 2010. He was appointed in 2010, elected to a full term in 2011, and re-elected in 2015. In his time on council, Mike has served as president pro tempore, as well as chairman of the public utilities, housing community and economic development, and legislation committees. Mike currently serves as the chairman of City Council’s Public Utilities Committee and vice chairman of the Building & Grounds and Parking Committees, as well as a member of the Legislation and Community Planning and Economic Development Committees.

Mike is also active in the community as a trustee for the J. Ford Crandall Foundation, President of OCCHA , and a trustee of the Danielle Marie Hodge Memorial Scholarship.
